San Marino is an upscale community in Mission Viejo, California located at the edges of the local lake. These waterfront homes offer spectacular views of fireworks, and concerts in the summer as well as beautiful sunsets each and every night.

The San Marino subdivision is comprised of 73 homes and was built by Mission Viejo Company. There are several open floor plans with a variety of designs.

This community is served by the Capistrano Unified School District which provides highly ranked Philip J. Reilly, Newhart Middle School, and Capistrano Valley High School. There are several private schools like Sunflower Montessori, Carden Academy, Al Ridah Academy, and Cornerstone Community School. There are several colleges in this region including Saddleback College which calls this city home and the University of California, Irvine.

Lake Mission Viejo is a popular area for windsurfers, anglers, and boaters. The lake is known for its catfish, bass, sunfish, and trout. Prizes are awarded to fishermen who catch tagged trout and the largest one caught as of 2006 was a little over 19 pounds. Other amenities of this community include 24-hour security, private docks with 72 slips, fishing piers, and boat storage off the water. The lake community regularly holds streets fairs, movie screenings, and holiday activities.

Mission Viejo has three golf clubs with championship courses and special event facilities; the Casta del Sol Golf Course, Arroyo Trabuco Golf Course, and The Mission Viejo Country Club. And Mission Hospital, the largest medical facility in South Orange County, is only minutes away. There is plenty of shopping the Kaleidoscope Courtyards and The Shops at Mission Viejo which offer well over 150 merchants.

Mission Viejo is popular for its tree-lined streets, clean air, and low crime. This city holds many triathlons and 5K runs throughout the year.
